The Municipal Library [ Library ]

Since September 1995 the municipal library has been placed in the building of the basic school. The premises were gained by an adaptation of the existing coal room in the school after a changeover to gas heating of the premises. The municipality has established the main borrowing room; a separate room has been allocated for children´s literature. The library has also a room for the depository.


In the entrance room two notice boards have been placed; our children´s drawings can be seen there. In the future they could also serve for small exhibitions of photographs of our village.

In 2003 the computer program Clavius for work at the library was bought for the library. It is also simultaneously used by the pupils´ and teachers´ library.

At the end of 2003 the number of volumes reached 8,350. This number increased a little with the books which were at the time of purchase of the database among the readers; new books were also bought. At the end of 2005, there were 8,993 volumes registered. There are 3,000 books available for children and youth, 476 of which are books of fairy tales. In addition to that there are about 1,000 brochures in the library, mainly novels for women of the Harlequin type or from the publishing house Ivo Železný.
